DFW Course Conditions: How Golfers Report Them (and Why It Works)

Member-reported course conditions across Dallas Fort Worth

Ask five golfers how a course is playing and you get five useful answers. Ask a website and you usually get last year's photos. That gap is why we built member-reported Course Conditions into LinksCoach Golf.

The problem

Conditions are hyperlocal and fast moving. A storm can soak Frisco and miss Fort Worth. Official channels announce the big things, sometimes, but nobody publishes that the back nine bunkers washed out or that Saturday rounds run five hours. The golfers walking off 18 know, and until now their knowledge left with them.

How member reports work

After a round, any member files a report in about 30 seconds:

One report per member per day per course; submitting again the same day updates it.

What you see before you play

Every DFW course page shows current category scores, active alerts, a two week recap, and a trend arrow. We also run a daily web scan of public reports and course announcements, but member reports always outrank it: member averages become the scores, and with four or more scored reports the trend itself comes from real member rounds. Reports carry a first name and date, and new ones appear immediately.

Why it works

The value compounds. One report helps the next golfer. A dozen across a wet week map which courses drain. Over a season, the trend data answers questions nobody else in DFW is answering: which courses hold their greens through summer, and where weekend pace actually holds up. Golfers looking out for golfers.

Frequently asked questions

Who can report conditions? Any LinksCoach Golf member on any DFW course page, free tier included.

How current is the information? Member reports appear immediately, the web scan refreshes daily, and everything shown is from the past 14 days.

What stops fake reports? One report per member per day, names and dates on every report, averaging across reports, and a report flag that sends questionable content to a review queue.
